Please read these terms carefully before using the platform.
Welcome to Lumeva (lumeva.ro). This document sets out the terms and conditions governing access to and use of the Lumeva platform, operated by Lumeva S.R.L. By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree with any of the provisions below, please do not use the Platform.
1. Company information
The Lumeva platform is operated by:

Company registration details will be added upon legal entity formation.
This information is provided in accordance with Romanian Law No. 365/2002 on electronic commerce.
2. Definitions
In this document, the following terms have the meanings set out below:
- "Platform" — the website lumeva.ro, the associated web application, and all services provided through them.
- "Operator" or "Lumeva" — Lumeva S.R.L., the company operating the Platform.
- "User" — any natural or legal person who accesses or uses the Platform, whether or not they have a registered account.
- "Client" — a registered User seeking interior design services through the Platform.
- "Designer" — a registered User (authorized professional, freelancer, or design studio) offering interior design services through the Platform.
- "Account" — the personal account created through registration on the Platform, protected by authentication credentials.
- "Design Request" — a brief published by a Client describing their project and interior design needs.
- "Offer" — a proposal submitted by a Designer in response to a Design Request, including estimated price and timeline.
- "Active Project" — the formalized collaboration between Client and Designer, resulting from an accepted Offer or Package purchase.
- "Package" — a predefined design service created by a Designer, with a fixed price and defined deliverables.
- "Subscription" — a paid plan purchased by a Designer for access to premium Platform features.
- "Content" — any text, image, video, file, or other material uploaded to the Platform by Users.
- "Unclaimed Profile" (Ghost Profile) — a designer profile created based on publicly available information, which can be claimed by the actual designer.
- "Guarantee" — the Client protection mechanism in case a Designer fails to deliver agreed services, as described in Section 11.
3. Service description and intermediary role
3.1. Lumeva is an intermediation platform (marketplace) that facilitates connections between Clients and interior Designers. The Platform provides tools for search, filtering, communication, project management, and payment processing.
3.2. Lumeva is NOT a party to the contractual relationship between Client and Designer. The Platform does not provide interior design services and does not employ the listed Designers. Designers are independent professionals, fully responsible for the quality, legality, and execution of the services they offer.
3.3. Lumeva does not guarantee and assumes no responsibility for:
- the quality, accuracy, or results of design services provided by Designers;
- compliance with delivery timelines agreed between Client and Designer;
- the conduct, professional competence, or creditworthiness of Users;
- the availability or suitability of any particular Designer for a specific project.
3.4. The Platform may offer automatic matching features between Clients and Designers based on criteria such as location, style, availability, and classification. These suggestions are indicative and do not constitute a recommendation or guarantee from Lumeva.
4. Registration and accounts
4.1. To use Platform features (except public browsing), you must create an Account. Registration is available via email or Google OAuth authentication.
4.2. You agree to:
- provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during registration;
- maintain the confidentiality of your authentication credentials;
- immediately notify Lumeva of any unauthorized use of your Account;
- not create more than one Account per person or entity (unless authorized by Lumeva).
4.3. Use of the Platform is permitted for persons aged at least 18 years with full legal capacity.
4.4. Email address confirmation is done by entering a verification code sent via email. The code is valid for 30 minutes from generation.
4.5. Lumeva reserves the right to suspend or close Accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or are involved in fraudulent activities.
5. Client obligations
By using the Platform as a Client, you agree to:
- describe design requests in good faith, providing accurate project information (area, budget, location, preferences);
- communicate with Designers exclusively through the Platform during the project;
- comply with agreed payment deadlines;
- provide constructive feedback and honest reviews;
- not request services that are illegal or infringe on third-party rights;
- not contact Designers outside the Platform to circumvent Lumeva's fees or protection mechanisms.
6. Designer obligations
By using the Platform as a Designer, you agree to:
- hold all qualifications, authorizations, and insurance necessary for providing interior design services under applicable Romanian law;
- provide accurate and up-to-date information in your profile (experience, portfolio, rates, availability);
- respond to Client messages within a reasonable timeframe;
- comply with prices, timelines, and deliverables agreed in Offers;
- not use content that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights of third parties;
- comply with applicable tax legislation, including invoicing and reporting obligations;
- not contact Clients outside the Platform to circumvent Lumeva's fees or protection mechanisms.
6.2. Designers confirm that they operate as independent professionals and that Lumeva is not their employer. The relationship between Designer and Lumeva is exclusively that of a Platform user.
7. Design requests, offers, and projects
7.1. Design Requests. Clients can publish design requests specifying property type, area, budget, preferred style, location, and other relevant details. Requests may include floor plans, photographs, and inspiration images.
7.2. Offers. Designers can submit offers in response to design requests, including estimated price, delivery timeline, and a descriptive message. Each Designer may submit only one offer per design request.
7.3. Offer acceptance. A Client's acceptance of an Offer automatically creates an Active Project. Other offers received for the same request are automatically declined, and the design request is closed.
7.4. Packages. Alternatively, Clients can directly purchase a predefined design Package without publishing a design request.
7.5. Communication. All project-related communications must take place through the Platform's messaging system. Messages may include attachments (files, images).
7.6. Deliverables and revisions. Designers upload deliverables (renders, plans, documentation) through the Platform. Clients may request revisions according to the terms agreed in the offer.
8. Payments, escrow, and fees
8.1. Payments for design services are processed through the Lumeva Platform using Stripe payment infrastructure. Lumeva does not directly store Users' payment card data.
8.2. Payment methods. Clients can pay in full or in installments (2 or 3 installments), according to the option selected when accepting the offer. Payments are denominated in EUR.
8.3. Escrow system. Amounts paid by the Client are held in escrow by the Lumeva Platform (through Stripe) for up to 90 days from the date of payment. Transfer to the Designer occurs after successful project completion and expiration of the protection period.
8.4. Platform commission. Lumeva charges a commission on each transaction, automatically deducted at the time of transfer to the Designer. The commission amount is transparently communicated before offer acceptance.
8.5. Refunds. If a project is not completed according to agreed terms or if a guarantee claim is approved, the Client may receive a full or partial refund according to the procedure described in Section 11.
8.6. Designers receive payments in their Stripe Connect account. Setting up the Stripe Connect account (including identity verification per KYC/AML requirements) is the sole responsibility of the Designer.
8.7. Lumeva is not responsible for payment processing delays caused by Stripe, banking institutions, or failure to meet verification requirements by the Designer.
9. Subscriptions
9.1. Designers can access premium features through paid subscription plans. Subscriptions are available on monthly or annual billing cycles.
9.2. Subscription tiers. The Platform offers multiple subscription levels, each with different features and limits (number of offers, search visibility, access to packages, etc.). Details for each plan are presented on the Platform's pricing page.
9.3. Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle. You will be notified by email before each renewal. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
9.4. In case of non-payment or recurring payment failure, access to premium features may be suspended or downgraded to the free tier.
9.5. Free tier. Designers with a free account have access to basic features, including a limited number of lifetime offers.
10. Intellectual property
10.1. Platform ownership. The Lumeva Platform, including its design, source code, logo, trademarks, and all content created by Lumeva, are the exclusive property of Lumeva S.R.L. and are protected by Romanian and international intellectual property law.
10.2. User-uploaded content. Users retain their intellectual property rights over content uploaded to the Platform (portfolio photographs, descriptions, plans, renders, etc.). By uploading content, Users grant Lumeva a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, and revocable license to display, reproduce, and distribute this content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform (profile display, search results, Platform promotional materials).
10.3. Design work. Intellectual property rights in design work created within an Active Project transfer from Designer to Client only after full payment is completed. Until full payment, the Designer retains all rights.
10.4. Portfolio display right. Designers retain the right to include completed work in their professional portfolio on the Platform, unless the Client expressly requests project confidentiality.
10.5. Users warrant that they hold the necessary rights to the content they upload and that it does not infringe third-party rights. Lumeva reserves the right to remove content that infringes intellectual property rights.
11. Guarantee and claims
11.1. Lumeva Guarantee. The Platform offers a Client protection mechanism (the Lumeva Guarantee) for situations where the Designer fails to deliver agreed services. The Guarantee applies exclusively to projects managed entirely through the Platform, including payments.
11.2. Eligibility conditions:
- the project must have been created and managed through the Platform;
- payment must have been made through the Platform's payment system;
- the guarantee claim must be filed within 90 days of project creation;
- the Client must have communicated with the Designer through the Platform and allowed a reasonable time for remedy.
11.3. Procedure. Guarantee claims are filed through the Platform, with a detailed description of the situation and supporting documents. Lumeva reviews the claim and may decide to:
- approve a full or partial refund;
- reject the claim, with reasons provided;
- mediate between Client and Designer to find an amicable solution.
11.4. Lumeva's decision regarding guarantee claims is based on information available on the Platform (messages, deliverables, payments) and is final within the Platform's internal mechanism, without prejudice to the parties' legal rights.
11.5. The maximum guarantee amount is limited to the amounts actually paid by the Client through the Platform for the respective project.
12. Review system
12.1. Upon project completion, both parties (Client and Designer) are invited to submit reviews. The Platform uses a simultaneous blind review system: both reviews are submitted independently and remain hidden until both are submitted or the 7-day window expires.
12.2. Reviews include multi-dimensional ratings (work quality, communication, value for money) on a 3-5 star scale, plus a text comment.
12.3. Users commit to submitting honest reviews based on actual experience. The following are prohibited:
- fake or paid reviews;
- reviews containing abusive, discriminatory, or defamatory language;
- intimidation or conditioning of review submission/modification.
12.4. Lumeva reserves the right to moderate and remove reviews that violate these Terms or that are flagged as fraudulent.
13. Unclaimed profiles (Ghost Profiles)
13.1. Lumeva may create designer profiles based on publicly available information on the internet (personal websites, professional social networks, design directories). These profiles are marked as "unclaimed" and have limited functionality.
13.2. The purpose of unclaimed profiles is to provide Clients with a comprehensive view of Romania's interior design market and to facilitate designer discovery.
13.3. Right to claim. Designers whose profiles have been created can claim their profile through a unique claim link sent via email. Once claimed, the Designer gains full control over the profile.
13.4. Right to removal. Any designer can request removal of their unclaimed profile at any time by emailing contact@lumeva.ro or by using the unsubscribe link in the invitation email. The request will be processed without undue delay.
13.5. The legal basis for processing data in unclaimed profiles is Lumeva's legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), based on a proportionality assessment. Further details are available in the Privacy Policy.
14. Dispute resolution
14.1. Amicable resolution. In case of any dispute, the parties shall first attempt amicable resolution through direct communication on the Platform or by contacting contact@lumeva.ro.
14.2. Lumeva mediation. For disputes related to active projects, Lumeva may intervene as a mediator, reviewing communications and deliverables available on the Platform.
14.3. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Consumers may use alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in accordance with Romanian Government Ordinance No. 38/2015. The list of ADR entities is available at ANPC — ADR.
14.4. ODR Platform. In accordance with EU Regulation No. 524/2013, the European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
14.5. ANPC. Consumers may file complaints with the Romanian National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC): https://anpc.ro.
14.6. As a last resort, any dispute shall be settled by the competent courts in Romania.
15. Right of withdrawal
15.1. In accordance with Romanian Government Emergency Ordinance No. 34/2014 on consumer rights in distance contracts, you have a right of withdrawal of 14 calendar days from the date of contract conclusion (offer acceptance or package purchase), without the need to provide a reason.
15.2. To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us by clear statement (email to contact@lumeva.ro) of your decision to withdraw from the contract.
15.3. Exceptions. The right of withdrawal does not apply to services fully performed before the expiration of the withdrawal period, provided that performance was begun with the consumer's prior express consent and acknowledgment that the right of withdrawal will be lost once the service has been fully performed (Art. 16(a) of OUG 34/2014).
15.4. In the event of a valid withdrawal, Lumeva will refund all amounts paid without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days from the date we were informed of your decision. The refund will be made using the same payment method used for the initial transaction.
16. Limitation of liability
16.1. The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." Lumeva does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Platform.
16.2. Lumeva is not responsible for:
- the quality or results of design services provided by Designers;
- losses or damages resulting from the direct relationship between Client and Designer;
- temporary unavailability of the Platform due to technical reasons or force majeure;
- User-generated content;
- loss of profit, data, or business opportunities.
16.3. Lumeva's total liability to any User, for any claims related to Platform use, is limited to the total commissions actually paid by that User to Lumeva in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
16.4. None of the above provisions limit or exclude Lumeva's liability for: (a) fraud or gross negligence; (b) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (c) any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable Romanian law.
17. Suspension and termination
17.1. Users may request account deactivation at any time through account settings or by emailing contact@lumeva.ro.
17.2. Lumeva may suspend or close a User's account, with prior notice (except in cases of fraud or imminent danger), in the following situations:
- violation of these Terms;
- providing false information;
- fraudulent or suspicious activity;
- abusive behavior toward other Users;
- repeated failure to fulfill project obligations;
- request from competent authorities.
17.3. In case of account suspension or termination, the User remains obligated to complete active projects and honor outstanding payments.
17.4. After account deactivation, Lumeva may retain certain data in accordance with legal obligations (financial records, fraud prevention), as described in the Privacy Policy.
18. Prohibited activities
By using the Platform, you agree not to:
- use the Platform for illegal or unauthorized purposes;
- upload content that infringes third-party rights (copyright, trademarks, personal data);
- transmit viruses, malware, or malicious code;
- attempt unauthorized access to Platform systems or data;
- create fake accounts or fictitious identities;
- use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to extract data from the Platform;
- manipulate the review or classification system;
- engage in spam, phishing, or social engineering activities;
- circumvent the Platform's payment or commission mechanisms;
- copy, reproduce, or distribute Platform content without authorization.
19. Amendments to Terms
19.1. Lumeva reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be communicated by:
- publishing the updated version on the Platform, with the last update date;
- notification via email or through the Platform, at least 30 days before substantial changes take effect.
19.2. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes tacit acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may cease using the Platform and request account deactivation.
20. Governing law and jurisdiction
20.1. These Terms are governed by Romanian law.
20.2. For consumer Users within the European Union, these Terms do not affect rights conferred by the mandatory legislation of the Member State in which they have their habitual residence.
20.3. Any dispute shall be settled by the competent courts in Romania, without prejudice to consumers' rights to bring proceedings in the courts of their domicile.
21. Final provisions
21.1. If any provision of these Terms is declared void or unenforceable by a competent court, the remaining provisions shall remain fully valid and enforceable.
21.2. No right or remedy provided in these Terms shall be deemed waived as a result of its late or partial exercise.
21.3. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between the User and Lumeva regarding the use of the Platform.
21.4. These Terms are available in Romanian and English. In case of discrepancy, the Romanian version shall prevail.
